A few local conditions that affect how appliances wear, from public sources.
In 2025 all of San Mateo’s Cal Water supply was bought from the San Francisco PUC (Hetch Hetchy) and averaged a soft 62 mg/L hardness, which leaves little mineral scale in dishwashers and ice makers.
South San Francisco’s Cal Water system blends local well water, which averaged a very hard 384 mg/L in 2025, with soft SFPUC water. Dishwashers and water heaters there can collect more mineral scale.

Stacked washers and dryers or double ovens are $115. Your diagnostic fee is credited toward a completed repair when you approve the repair within 30 days of the diagnostic visit. Approvals after 30 days do not qualify for the credit.
For approved repairs, a 50% deposit is due at approval. The remaining 50% is due immediately when the repair is completed.
